2018 AIM HDC

The session introduces Blockchain at a high level to the business user. We discuss the role of general ledgers, or data repositories, with a focus on why distributed ledgers can lead to dis-intermediation. Distributed ledgers are explained at the hand of practical use cases of the Blockchain; including sales, operation and IT. This is where analytics comes into play and could unlock ideal private or public use cases. We discuss what the Blockchain means for analytics and the potential consolidation of data sources. Our session concludes with a demo of a Qlik application, which leverages a private blockchain ledger as the main transactional data source.
