Machine Learning For Your Machine Learning

Machine learning is a powerful tool to gain fresh insights into data and make decisions faster. Unfortunately preparing your data and training the software can be painful, time-consuming, and confusing. There are tips, tricks, and rules of thumb for how to do it, but it still can take days or weeks of work and many failed attempts to find something that works well enough. In this session we will explore how to use machine learning, and maybe even some artificial intelligence, to simplify and optimize the use of machine learning. Can an algorithm look at the data and know the best way to pre-process it? Can it then know the best algorithm and settings to use for that data?

Along the way we’ll also discuss what data pre-processing is, various basic machine learning algorithms, and the process of building a system that uses machine learning. At the end we’ll watch an application take raw data, process it, design a machine learning algorithm for the data, train the algorithm, and then test it.
